As free agency approaches, the Green Bay Packers are in a strong position with over $46 million in cap space and a promising young core on both sides of the ball. Among those decisions is the need to re-sign linebacker Eric Wilson, identified as the Packers’ must-keep free agent by Bleacher Report. While not a “make-or-break” player, Wilson is seen as an important veteran presence in the front seven, especially after rookie Edgerrin Cooper’s emergence in 2024. Wilson’s experience, with 72 tackles, two sacks, and one forced fumble last season, makes him a valuable asset. With plenty of cap room, the Packers have the ability to retain Wilson for the 2025 season and beyond, ensuring continuity in their linebacker corps as they look to improve their defense moving forward.
