The Clemson Tigers are preparing for the 2025 ACC Men’s Basketball Tournament at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, aiming to build momentum for March Madness.
Brad Brownell’s team has emerged as one of the top contenders in the conference, but one major achievement has always eluded them—the ACC Tournament title. Clemson basketball, with roots dating back to 1911-12 and its first conference championship in 1939, has never won the ACC Tournament since its inception in 1953. Despite strong teams over the years, including the 1990 squad that claimed the regular-season ACC title, the Tigers have fallen short on the postseason stage. Could 2025 be the year that changes? Currently projected as a No. 5 seed in the NCAA Tournament, Clemson is well-positioned to make an impact in March. But capturing the ACC Tournament title would not only secure a higher seed but also make history. Brownell has guided the Tigers to several deep ACC Tournament runs, but this year’s team might have its best chance yet. With a blend of experienced leaders and emerging talent, Clemson has the ability to compete with the ACC’s elite. If they can perform well in Charlotte, they’ll enter the NCAA Tournament with the momentum needed for a deep postseason run. However, they first need to defeat some of the ACC’s best and achieve what no Clemson team has before—win the conference tournament.
