“Warriors Finally Make the Move Everyone Expected: The Obvious Signing Is Official!”

The Golden State Warriors are reportedly set to re-sign forward Kevin Knox to a second 10-day contract, as confirmed by Anthony Slater of The Athletic on Friday.

After impressing with the Santa Cruz Warriors, where he averaged over 25 points, eight rebounds, and shot 44% from beyond the arc, Knox was initially signed to his first 10-day contract following the All-Star break.

Knox made his first notable appearance in the Warriors’ rotation on Thursday against the Orlando Magic, playing five minutes in the second quarter as the team staged a comeback to win 121-115. Although his performance wasn’t particularly impactful—missing both of his 3-point attempts, committing fouls, and having just one highlight play—a putback dunk on a Stephen Curry miss—he did show flashes of potential.

In a more significant showing against the Charlotte Hornets on Tuesday, Knox shined in 15 minutes of garbage time. He knocked down two 3-pointers, blocked two shots, and dunked a vicious alley-oop, finishing with 12 points, five rebounds, and three assists. This performance gave fans a glimpse of his skill set.

While Knox’s chances for regular rotation minutes may be limited, especially with Jonathan Kuminga nearing a return from injury, he has the size, athleticism, and potential to be a valuable end-of-roster player, especially as the Warriors prepare for several upcoming back-to-backs.

The Warriors also face a decision regarding another 10-day signee, Yuri Collins, who has yet to make an appearance on the current road trip, and may not remain with the team.

Once Knox’s second 10-day contract expires, the expectation is that the Warriors will offer him a rest-of-season deal. Knox, the former ninth overall pick of the 2018 draft, is in his seventh NBA season, following stints with the New York Knicks, Atlanta Hawks, Detroit Pistons, and Portland Trail Blazers.
