The New York Knicks are ready to move on from the drama surrounding Draymond Green’s recent comments. Green, the Golden State Warriors’ forward, sparked controversy when he suggested that Karl-Anthony Towns sat out a game against the Warriors to avoid a showdown with Jimmy Butler.
Towns was actually on bereavement leave after his girlfriend lost a close friend. Despite this, Green chose to speculate about Towns’ motivations on his podcast, “The Draymond Green Show with Baron Davis.” Green’s comments were widely criticized, and he was given the opportunity to apologize but instead defended his theory.
Josh Hart, Towns’ teammate, expressed his disappointment with Green’s comments, stating that he wished Green had apologized for his mistake. However, Hart also emphasized that the Knicks are moving on from the incident and focusing on their upcoming game against the Warriors.
Towns himself addressed the situation, choosing to take the high road and expressing his desire to approach the situation with love rather than hate. Towns acknowledged the difficulty of dealing with the loss of a loved one and expressed his hope that no one would have to go through what he and his family experienced.
The Knicks are now looking to put the drama behind them and focus on their game against the Warriors. With the team closing out their five-game West Coast road trip, they will be looking to bounce back from their previous loss to the Warriors.
As the Knicks move forward, they will be focusing on their performance on the court rather than getting drawn into Green’s antics. With Towns back in the lineup, the team will be looking to build on their recent momentum and finish their road trip on a high note.
