The Golden State Warriors have received a positive update on Jonathan Kuminga’s injury status. Kuminga, who has been out since January 4th with a sprained right ankle, has made significant progress in his recovery and recently participated in a five-on-five scrimmage.
Warriors head coach Steve Kerr described Kuminga’s participation in the scrimmage as a “huge step” in his rehabilitation. While Kuminga is expected to miss the next game against the Charlotte Hornets, he will be re-evaluated before the Warriors embark on a five-game road trip.
Kuminga’s return is expected to bolster the Warriors’ lineup as they make a push for the playoffs. Prior to his injury, he was averaging 16.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game, playing a key role in the Warriors’ offense.
The Warriors are currently 30-27 and ninth in the Western Conference, and are hopeful that Kuminga’s return will help them secure a strong position in the playoffs.
