Bengals Strengthen Defense with Edge Rusher in Bold Seven-Round Mock Draft Trades

The NFL Draft is fast approaching, and CBS Sports writer Chris Trapasso has shared his latest seven-round mock draft. For the Cincinnati Bengals, the first pick in this mock was Ohio State guard Donovan Jackson at No. 17 overall, a somewhat unconventional choice compared to other mock drafts. Trapasso highlighted that the Bengals are focused on maintaining their high-powered offense, with adding a top-tier guard being a priority—Jackson fits that need perfectly.

Jackson, ranked 37th overall and the third-best interior offensive lineman, is seen as a strong addition to the Bengals’ roster. The mock draft also includes several key trades and picks throughout the seven rounds, such as:

  • Pick 49: Landon Jackson, EDGE from Arkansas (48th overall)
  • Pick 103 (via trade with Titans through Dolphins): Jacob Parrish, CB from Kansas State (88th overall)
  • Pick 119: Andrew Armstrong, WR from Arkansas (378th overall)
  • Pick 135 (via trade with Dolphins): Hunter Wohler, S from Wisconsin (201st overall)
  • Pick 153: Jaylin Smith, CB from USC (225th overall)
  • Pick 167 (via trade with Titans through Dolphins): Ty Hamilton, DT from Ohio State (192nd overall)
  • Pick 193: Teddye Buchanan, LB from California (219th overall)

The Bengals’ trades throughout the draft could shake up their strategy as they aim to strengthen their roster.
