Will He Stay or Will He Flip? Ohio State Pushes to Sway 5-Star QB From Texas.

With spring football right around the corner, Ohio is turning up the heat on the recruiting trail—but can they pull off a massive flip that shakes up the 2026 class? The name at the center of it all: five-star quarterback.

He has been locked in with Texas since June, but that hasn’t stopped Ohio State, Georgia, and LSU from chasing him down. Could the Buckeyes make him rethink his decision? Or is he truly untouchable?

“I still take their calls and hear them out because, in college football, coaches can be here today and gone tomorrow,” Bell told On3’s Chad Simmons. “ Dia Bell  says  I want to keep those connections open in case anything changes, but as long as Coach Sark and (AJ) Milwee are at Texas, that’s where I’m staying.”

That sounds solid—but is it really? We’ve seen top recruits swear loyalty before, only to flip at the last second. Ohio State knows this game well, and with no quarterback committed for the 2026 cycle, Ryan Day is pulling out all the stops.

Bell’s only scheduled official visit is to Texas on June 20, but if the Buckeyes can get him on campus, could things take a dramatic turn? Is this recruitment as over as it seems—or is there a plot twist on the horizon? Buckle up—this one isn’t over yet.
