“Wild Transfer Twist: Clemson’s Huge Offer Shakes Up the Portal”

Clemson’s pursuit of Charleston transfer Ante Brzovic is still unfolding as the Tigers evaluate their options in the transfer portal. According to Andrew Miller, reporter for The Charleston Post and Courier, Clemson has offered the standout big man a lucrative deal for next season, potentially a major payday, although it’s contingent on the outcome of a lawsuit affecting his eligibility. However, following the additions of forwards Asa Welling and Viktor Davidson, it’s unclear whether the offer still stands.

Brzovic’s on-court performance speaks for itself. As one of the top players in the portal, the 6-foot-10 forward averaged 18.3 points, 8.1 rebounds, and shot a league-leading 54.4% from the field this past season. He earned All-CAA First Team and NABC All-District Second Team honors, reaching double-digit points in 29 of his 33 starts—including 14 games with 20+ points and three 30-point performances. His senior season with Charleston saw him set several records, including 606 total points (11th most in a season), 240 field goals (8th), and 214 defensive rebounds (3rd). Brzovic also ranked seventh in the nation in total field goals and recorded eight double-doubles.

His season highlights include a buzzer-beating three-pointer in a double-overtime win over Florida Atlantic, part of a career-high 39-point performance, and a dominant three-game stretch where he averaged 30.5 points and 9.0 rebounds, earning CAA Player of the Week honors. Since entering the portal, Brzovic has received interest from top programs like Baylor, Indiana, Texas, North Carolina, USC, Villanova, and Texas A&M. Clemson is still in the running, but with the frontcourt starting to take shape and fierce competition heating up, it’s unclear whether the Tigers will remain his final destination.

With his eligibility still uncertain and offers flooding in from across the country, Brzovic now faces a critical decision about where—and if—he’ll play next season.
