Mich. (AP) – C.J. Ogbonna threw for 260 yards and three touchdowns, while JJ Jenkins added a 90-yard touchdown reception to lead Buffalo to a dominant 37-20 win over Eastern Michigan in a game filled with explosive plays.
Eastern Michigan made a late push, cutting Buffalo’s lead to 23-20 with 8:54 remaining. Cole Snyder connected with Markus Allen for a 78-yard touchdown, part of a rapid two-play, 90-yard drive that took just 33 seconds. However, Buffalo responded immediately on the next drive. After a touchback on the kickoff, Ogbonna launched a 75-yard touchdown pass to Al-Jay Henderson, extending the Bulls’ lead to 30-20.
Both teams turned the ball over on downs on their next possessions, but Buffalo sealed the victory when linebacker Shaun Dolac intercepted a pass from Jeremiah Salem. Dolac returned it 60 yards for a touchdown, making it 37-20 with 2:59 left. This was Dolac’s second interception of the game, and he also registered nine tackles, now leading the nation with 146 tackles for the season.
Buffalo (7-4, 5-2 Mid-American) started strong, building a 17-0 lead early. Ogbonna threw a long touchdown pass to Jenkins, and Dion Crawford added a safety after sacking Snyder in the end zone. Ogbonna later connected with Viktor Snow for a 7-yard touchdown just before halftime, giving Buffalo a comfortable 23-13 lead.
Snyder threw for 351 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions for Eastern Michigan (5-6, 2-5). Allen finished with 187 receiving yards on nine receptions, while Terry Lockett Jr. added two touchdown catches, totaling 122 yards on eight catches. Despite their strong individual performances, the Eagles couldn’t keep up with Buffalo’s explosive offense and defense.
