Breaking: Rumors Suggest Cincinnati Bengals Star May Depart in 2025, According to NFL Insider

Cincinnati Bengals’ Disappointing 2023 Season and Tee Higgins’ Future

The Cincinnati Bengals’ 2023 season was a major letdown. Finishing with a 9-8 record, they ended up last in the AFC North and missed the playoffs for just the second time in the Joe Burrow era. While injuries played a significant role in the team’s struggles, there was optimism at the start of the 2024 season. However, injuries have once again been a factor, and the Bengals find themselves underperforming, sitting at 4-6 and in third place in the division. With seven games left, there’s still time to salvage the season, but this could very well be one of the most talented rosters Burrow will ever play with in his career.

**Jeremy Fowler: Tee Higgins Likely to Leave the Bengals in 2025**

One of the big questions looming over the Bengals’ future is the fate of wide receiver Tee Higgins. Currently playing under the franchise tag, Higgins is set to become a free agent after this season. While the team could place the franchise tag on him again, it’s unlikely they’ll commit that much money to one position, especially with Ja’Marr Chase expected to command a record-breaking contract soon.

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, there is little chance that Higgins will be back with the Bengals beyond 2024. “People I’ve talked to feel pretty strongly about that, barring a major surprise,” Fowler said. “A second franchise tag would cost the Bengals around $26.2 million for a one-year rental. Higgins wanted out of Cincinnati last offseason, and with the Bengals likely focusing on a Chase extension, Higgins will have plenty of suitors from teams in need of a top-tier wide receiver.”

Stay tuned as the situation develops, but it looks like the Bengals could be facing a major change in their wide receiver room in 2025.
