The No. 3 Texas Longhorns will visit Fayetteville in Week 12 to face the 5–4 Arkansas Razorbacks. Here’s a look at some key players on the Arkansas roster.
Taylen Green: Quarterback
After three seasons at Boise State, the former 3-star dual-threat quarterback has transferred to Arkansas for his fourth year of college football as a redshirt junior. This season, Green has appeared in nine games, passing for 2,214 yards and 11 touchdowns. He has also tallied 161 completions, and with just five more completions .Green was also sacked a career-high five times. As a true dual-threat quarterback, the junior has rushed for 411 yards this season.
Ja’Quinden Jackson: Running Back
After three years at Utah and a brief stint with the Longhorns, Jackson joined Arkansas this season. A former 5-star recruit and the fifth-ranked running back in his class, the redshirt senior has been a key contributor to the Razorbacks’ offense. He has rushed for 592 yards and 10 touchdowns on 104 carries, leading the team in both categories. Jackson has also added 11 receptions for 125 yards. Though he missed Arkansas’ last two games due to an ankle injury, he is expected to return to action against Texas in Week 12.
Andrew Armstrong: Wide Receiver
Isaiah Sategna, the second-leading receiver, has only 29 catches, highlighting Armstrong’s central role in the Razorbacks’ passing attack. Armstrong is expected to play a key part in challenging Texas’ strong secondary.
Xavian Sorey Jr: Linebacker
A transfer from Georgia and the former fourth-ranked linebacker in his class, Sorey leads the Razorbacks with 43 assisted tackles and 73 total tackles. He has also contributed one sack and one interception this season, making him a crucial part of the Arkansas defense. A native of Dallas, Texas, Armstrong began his college career at Texas A&M Commerce, spending four seasons there before transferring to Arkansas last year. Now in his second season with the Razorbacks, Armstrong has become the go-to target for quarterback Taylen Green. He leads the team with 55 catches for 857 yards.
