The Las Vegas Raiders are coming off their bye week and have made significant changes to their coaching staff.

The team decided to part ways with three offensive staff members, including offensive coordinator Luke Getsy. In response, they promoted Scott Turner to Interim Offensive Coordinator and brought in his father, Norv Turner, in an advisory role. However, one area where head coach Antonio Pierce and his staff did not make a change was at quarterback. Despite Gardner Minshew being benched three times in the first nine games, Pierce confirmed on Wednesday that they would stick with the veteran quarterback. His announcement, however, lacked confidence. “What do we got to lose at this point, right? We’re 2-7. … I’m looking forward,” Pierce said, according to Tashan Reed of The Athletic

Fans believe that Minshew is more likely to help the team secure a high draft pick than Desmond Ridder would. The Raiders brought Minshew in late October, and although he has been replaced a couple of times, he has yet to officially take on the starting role, leading many fans to think the team is intentionally tanking. “Good. Minshew gives them the best chance to lose,” one fan commented. “Committed to the tank. Respect,” another wrote. “Translation: Ridder gives us the best chance to win games, but Minshew gives us the best shot at the first overall pick,” said a third fan.
