Rodney Terry’s staff has added a highly-ranked national prospect to its 2025 recruiting class.
AUSTIN, Texas — John Clark, a consensus top-50 recruit in the 2025 class, has signed an Athletic Scholarship Agreement (ASA) to join the University of Texas men’s basketball team next season, head coach Rodney Terry announced on Wednesday.
Clark, a 6-9, 230-pound forward from Houston, Texas, currently plays at Link Academy in Branson, Missouri. He is ranked as the No. 37 overall player in the nation by 247 Sports Composite, No. 38 by On3, No. 40 by ESPN, No. 42 by Rivals, and No. 45 by 247 Sports. He previously played for Klein Cain High School in Klein, Texas, during his freshman through junior years.
“John Clark brings a unique combination of finesse and power, along with the versatility needed to succeed at the highest levels,” said Blue Zertuche, a recruiting analyst for the Great American Shoot-Out. “He has a soft touch around the rim and isn’t afraid to use his physicality when necessary. His skill set has consistently developed, and competing in the SEC will only accelerate his growth, refining his game further.”
This past summer, Clark earned All-Adidas Performer honors while playing for T.J. Ford Elite on the 2024 Adidas 3SSB circuit.
As a junior in the 2023-24 season, Clark averaged 17.8 points, 13.1 rebounds, and shot 61% from the field. He led all Class 6A players in Texas in rebounds per game and double-doubles (22). Clark also helped lead Klein Cain to the first round of the 2024 UIL Class 6A state tournament and earned a spot on the All-Greater Houston Boys Basketball second team, as recognized by the Houston Chronicle.
