Texas lands a game-changing top-five recruit, securing a future star for the program!

Crump is a 2024 State Champion and a 2023 USA Basketball U16 Gold Medalist—an unstoppable force on and off the court!

Aaliyah Crump dominated her junior season, averaging 24.4 points, 8.2 rebounds, 3.7 steals, and 3.3 assists, leading Minnetonka High School to the 2024 4A State Championship.

A two-time All-State selection and team captain, Crump also earned the title of 2024 MaxPreps Minnesota Player of the Year and made the watch list for the 2024-25 Naismith Trophy for High School Player of the Year.

Texas head coach Vic Schaefer couldn’t be more thrilled about signing Crump, calling her a player they spotted years ago as someone with elite potential. “She’s already a state champion and a USA Basketball gold medalist, and I know the best is yet to come,” Schaefer said.

Crump, who joined USA Basketball in 2022, helped lead the USA Women’s U16 National Team to a gold medal at the 2023 FIBA Americas Championship in Merida, Mexico, where she ranked second on the team in three-pointers and shooting percentage.

With her parents, Ashley Wolf and Michael Crump, both former collegiate athletes at Central Methodist University, Crump has grown up in a family of sports excellence.

“Aaliyah’s skill set is off the charts,” Schaefer added. “Her vision on the court is rare, and she plays both unselfishly and as a high-level scorer. She can stretch the floor beyond the arc and create her own shot at will. Her work ethic, attitude, and leadership will be game-changers for our program, and I’m confident she’ll be a star at Texas and beyond.”

Crump has been mentored by some of the best, including Bill Larson at North Tartan, Dickson Jenson at All Iowa Attack, Brian Cosgriff at Minnetonka High, and Marqus McGlothan at Eastern Illinois. She plans to major in Sports Management and Marketing at Texas and is eager to join the Longhorns.

“I chose Texas because from day one, the coaches made me feel like part of the family,” Crump said. “I want to compete at the highest level while earning a top-tier education. This program is destined for greatness, and I’m excited to be part of it under Coach Schaefer’s leadership.”
