SAD NEWS: Four Alabama key players announced departure today after…………….

Alabama football is experiencing significant changes as two more high-profile players, Kadyn Proctor and Caleb Downs, are reportedly set to enter the transfer portal. Proctor, a standout left tackle, and Downs, an All-America safety, were both key players in the 2023 season. Proctor’s announcement came via social media, while Downs’ potential departure was highlighted by Deuce Recruiting, where his father Gary is a prominent figure.

Their departure would be a major setback for new head coach Kalen DeBoer. Proctor and Downs were crucial to Alabama’s success, with Downs leading the team in tackles as a freshman and earning second-team All-America honors. Proctor, a top recruit, was a constant presence on the offensive line.

Their exits follow a trend of significant player movements since the retirement of coach Nick Saban. Other notable transfers include receiver Isaiah Bond to Texas and center Seth McLaughlin to Ohio State, among others.

As Alabama adjusts to these departures, the program is also dealing with changes in coaching staff, such as former secondary coach Travaris Robinson joining Georgia as co-defensive coordinator and safeties coach.
