JUST IN:Packers divisional round snaps: 4,444 49ers expose middle of Packers defense

“Darnell Savage and his terrible, terrible, no, very bad day” is an apt title for the Green Bay Packers’ 24-21 loss to the San Francisco 49ers in Saturday’s divisional playoff game.

Dew.

That’s not to say Savage was the sole reason for the Packers’ loss, by no means, but he certainly made some big mistakes that contributed to the loss.Frankly, the entire Packers defensive center struggled in the loss.

It was a rough day for the entire safety group, as rookie Anthony Johnson Jr.

played in the 49ers’ first touchdown (Savage came in man coverage against George Kittle) or simply missed a call.

.

But Savage bore the brunt, missing a potentially game-changing interception early in the game and attempting a particularly rough tackle for one of the 49ers’ other touchdowns.

Meanwhile, the linebackers were hesitant to attack receivers, indicating they could be targeted again in coverage.

Devondre Campbell in particular once again had issues, looking slow on the edge both when he didn’t have the ball and when replacing the injured Kingsley Enagbare.

Although it was a defensive performance that head coach Matt LaFleur described as “amazing” after the game, there were a number of issues that needed to be addressed this offseason, including these two.

Meanwhile, a number of players on this roster played their final snaps as Packers on Saturday.

With John Runyan Jr.

‘s contract expiring this offseason, he could be the one the team looks to side with Sean Ryan to take over the starting right guard job.

The same goes for Yos Nijman, who could still have a lot to offer as a replacement for right tackle Zach Tom following his injury.

So as you read through the numbers below, keep in mind that this team, at least some of it, is going to look very different next season.

Offense (67 total snaps) Quarterback Jordan Love 67 The Packers’ QB did enough in this game to effectively tie the game with Brock Purdy.

Both players posted roughly the same EPA on roughly the same number of dropbacks per game, with Love posting 6.

5 on 40 attempts while Purdy had 6.

5 on 41 dropbacks.

Of course, Love was penalized for his QB sneak attempt on 4th and 1st after getting a bad call from officials.

Overall, Love’s accuracy on Saturday night was inconsistent.

He made some notable throws — such as a laser beam to Romeo Doubes on the left sideline — but then threw well behind Tucker Craft on a drag route for his first interception.

.

And then there’s this quarterback’s cardinal sin.

He committed his second interception, his last attempt of the game.
