Although Caitlin Clark is now the face of the Indiana Fever, her legacy will always be tied to Iowa Hawkeye basketball. During her time at Iowa, she was nothing short of dominant—breaking records and racking up accolades. She became the NCAA Division I all-time leading scorer (across both men’s and women’s basketball) and earned a long list of honors, including four first-team USBWA and WBCA All-American nods, three unanimous first-team All-American selections, and multiple Player of the Year awards from the AP, Naismith, and Wooden organizations. Clark also led the nation in scoring and assists three times, and in 3-point shooting twice.
Earlier this year, Iowa retired her jersey, and now she’s returning once again to Carver-Hawkeye Arena on May 4 to lead the Indiana Fever in a sold-out preseason game against Brazil’s national team. Iowa recently announced a slight time change for the game—now tipping off at 3 p.m. CT—and shared the update on social media. Clark chimed in with a playful Instagram comment: “Will rearrange my calendar.”
Fans loved it. Her witty and lighthearted response drew praise across social media, with users celebrating her humor and charm. Comments included: “She’s the best social media menace,” “You’re insane—but you’re our insane,” and “She’s so nice, talented, and has a great sense of humor.”
Clark is coming off an extraordinary rookie season in the WNBA, where she won Rookie of the Year nearly unanimously, finished fourth in MVP voting, broke multiple records, and led the league in assists. The Fever begin their preseason on May 3 against the Washington Mystics, followed by the Brazil game on May 4, and a matchup with the Atlanta Dream on May 10. Their regular season kicks off May 17 against Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky.
