Alabama is set to lose a wide receiver as Jaren Hamilton enters the transfer portal following the team’s performance in the ReliaQuest Bowl.
According to Rivals, Hamilton is exploring options to continue his college football career elsewhere after two seasons with the Crimson Tide.
A native of Gainesville, Florida, Hamilton attended Buchholz High School and was a top recruit in the Class of 2023. Rated as a 4-star prospect by 247Sports, he ranked as the No. 35 wide receiver and the No. 238 player nationally. Despite offers from Florida, Michigan, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Tennessee, USC, and others, Hamilton chose to play for Nick Saban at Alabama.
Over his two seasons with the Tide, Hamilton appeared in just six games. In 2023, he played in wins over Middle Tennessee and Chattanooga, taking a redshirt due to fewer than four regular-season appearances. This season, he saw action in four games, contributing on both offense and special teams during matchups against Western Kentucky, Wisconsin, Mercer, and Michigan. However, he did not record any offensive stats during his time at Alabama.
With three years of eligibility remaining, Hamilton is now seeking a fresh start at another program.
