Aaron Rodgers jokes that Jordan Love can buy his house in Green Bay with his new contract..

Does Love need a new house?

Aaron Rodgers has one for him in Green Bay, if he’s interested, and made a playful offer to his former teammate.

Would Love get a discount? After all, Rodgers was famously known for his “discount double check” ads with State Farm Insurance.

Former Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers (left) congratulated Jordan Love on his contract extension and even made him an offer.

Rodgers took a moment on Saturday at New York Jets training camp with the NFL Network crew to commend Love, his backup for three years (2020-22), for cashing in on his successful first year as the Packers’ starting quarterback.

“I want to give a shoutout to Jordan Love for becoming the highest-paid player in the NFL,” Rodgers said.

Then Rodgers had a message for Love, who has now set the market for quarterback salaries.

“J Love, don’t spend it all in one place,” Rodgers said, “but if you do, I still have a house in Green Bay that’s up for sale.”

Rodgers has supported Love from afar over the past year as he transitioned to New York and watched his successor thrive.

Rodgers and his real estate agents will need to find another buyer.

Love isn’t interested.

The Packers quarterback had a humorous response to Rodgers’ suggestion.

“A-Rod, I won’t be buying your house, man, but I’ll go check on it, make sure it’s well taken care of,” Love said in his response to Rodgers’ comment on the NFL Network Sunday from Packers training camp.

After sitting out the first four training camp practices due to ongoing contract negotiations, news broke Friday night of Love’s massive extension.

Details include: Four years totaling $220 million with a $75 million signing bonus, the largest in NFL history. His annual $55 million salary ties him with Cincinnati’s Joe Burrow and Jacksonville’s Trevor Lawrence for the highest in NFL history. He’s also receiving $155 million in guaranteed money, according to NFLPA salary data and Spotrac.

Love’s annual salary exceeds the highest annual pay Rodgers ever received from the Packers, thanks in part to the surge in quarterback contracts over the last two years.

**Aaron Rodgers news**

Rodgers is fully participating in Jets training camp, recovering from a torn Achilles that limited him to just the first four plays of the 2023 season.

The four-time NFL MVP attended most of the Jets’ offseason program, except the mandatory minicamp in June. Rodgers was in Egypt on vacation with friends, crossing off a “bucket list” destination during the “doldrums” of his rehab last fall.

Rodgers said he planned the vacation based on last year’s offseason schedule.

“I had a great talk with Robert,” Rodgers said. “Obviously, he wanted me to be there. I knew the consequences if I wasn’t going to be there. The reaction is what it is.”
