**Steelers Release Statement After Former WR’s Tragic Death**

The Pittsburgh Steelers have expressed their condolences to the family and loved ones of former wide receiver Jacoby Jones and the Baltimore Ravens organization following his tragic death.

Jones passed away in his sleep at the age of 40, as reported by multiple sources. The Ravens released a statement, with head coach John Harbaugh sharing fond memories of Jones and sending a message to his family.

“I loved Jacoby Jones. We all did. His spirit, enthusiasm, and love for people were powerful. He was a light. He was the cherished son of his loving mom, Ms. Emily. They were so close. He was a man of faith,” Harbaugh said.

The Steelers also sent their support to the Ravens and Jones’s family. “We send our condolences to the family and loved ones of Jacoby Jones, the Ravens organization, and the NFL community,” the Steelers tweeted on July 14, 2024.

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin expressed his sympathy, stating, “My heartfelt sympathy goes out to the family of Jacoby Jones during this difficult time. I enjoyed coaching him during his time with the Steelers.”

Jones spent three years with the Ravens, earning Pro Bowl and All-Pro honors and scoring two touchdowns in their Super Bowl 47 victory over the San Francisco 49ers. He later played 13 games with the Steelers before finishing his NFL career with the San Diego Chargers.

During his tenure with Pittsburgh, Jones returned nine punts for 220 yards. While with Baltimore, he returned 86 kicks for 853 yards and 101 punts for 3,037 yards, scoring five special teams touchdowns.
