WHAT HAPPENED?
According to the Daily Mail, the Cowboys’ home stadium beat out MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
The decision was finalized after months of speculation and was also approved by all other host cities.
The 2026 version of the tournament will feature a new format, with 104 matches played over 39 days in three countries.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Now that the venue has been decided, the 2026 finals will be the largest sporting event ever held at a single venue in the United States.
AT&T Stadium can hold more than 100,000 people, more spectators than any major city suburb.
This venue has hosted everything from dirt bike races to monster truck runs to pop concerts and all sorts of other sporting events.
It also has a retractable roof, so even bad weather won’t affect play.
But the big draw is that it features a $40 million, 160-foot-by-72-foot hanging HDTV video board.

AT&T Stadium’s attendance record is 108,713, set for the NBA All-Star Game on February 2, 2010.
WHAT NEXT FOR AT&T STADIUM
World cup qualifying campaigns have already begun around the world and will continue until 2024.
However, as hosts, all three of her countries – Mexico, the United States, and Canada – automatically qualified for the tournament.
