Clemson has officially released its full 2025 football schedule, featuring a stronger-than-usual home slate and several tough road matchups, including a Friday night game at Louisville and a road Palmetto Bowl.
LSU: The Bayou Tigers will visit Clemson for the first time as part of an exciting home-and-home series. This is a matchup fans have been waiting for, and with both teams having split their previous two meetings, it’s sure to be a high-stakes game. LSU will look to break their five-game season-opening losing streak, while Clemson’s Cade Klubnik could make a statement in the Heisman race.
Troy: Clemson and Troy have met only twice, with Clemson winning both. The Tigers had a close call in 2016, but the Trojans are unlikely to pose a major threat this time around.
at Georgia Tech: Clemson resumes its rivalry with Georgia Tech after a break last season. While Georgia Tech might not have a great win total, they’ll bring a physical style of play, with key returning players like QB Haynes King and RB Jamal Haynes.
Syracuse: Coming off a 9-4 season, Syracuse faces heavy roster changes, losing top playmakers on offense. This could be a much weaker opponent in 2025, but don’t forget, they helped Clemson’s season last year by beating Miami.
at UNC: After an early bye week, Clemson travels to Chapel Hill to face North Carolina under new head coach Bill Belichick. With a potential QB battle and some defensive improvements, this game could be tougher than expected depending on the Tar Heels’ quarterback situation.
at Boston College: Despite a poor record away from home, Boston College performed well at Alumni Stadium last year. Clemson will be favored, but expect the Eagles to put up a fight.
SMU: Clemson’s top ACC home game in 2025 comes against SMU, led by Coach Rhett Lashlee. With QB Kevin Jennings returning, this should be an exciting matchup, though SMU could pose a challenge to Clemson’s defense.
Duke: Duke, who upset Clemson to open 2023, is no longer a bottom feeder. With transfer QB Darian Mensah and an increased focus on football, Duke could present a tricky challenge, especially after Clemson’s second bye week.
Florida State: Florida State’s fortunes could swing back toward the middle after a 2-10 season last year, but their strong QB/OC combo could make them a formidable opponent when they visit Death Valley.
at Louisville: This tough matchup comes on a Friday night in Louisville. The Cardinals’ first-ever win against Clemson last season will make this one a tough road test, especially with RB Isaac Brown, who ran for 151 yards against Clemson in 2024.
Furman: Clemson faces Furman in a late-season FCS matchup, likely providing a breather before heading into the Palmetto Bowl.
at South Carolina: The Gamecocks, led by returning QB LaNorris Sellers and bolstered by transfer talent, could pose the toughest challenge of the season. Clemson has not lost in Columbia since 2013, but this game could be a real battle depending on South Carolina’s performance.
The 2025 season promises plenty of excitement and tough competition as Clemson faces a mixture of familiar rivals and emerging threats.
