Despite a 113-98 defeat to the Detroit Pistons, former Alabama standout and current Brooklyn Nets forward Noah Clowney had a night to remember.
Clowney posted a career-best 29 points on 9-of-20 shooting, including a solid 5-of-11 from three-point range. He also contributed six rebounds, three assists, and two steals. The next highest scorer for the Nets was center Nic Claxton, who finished with 14 points.
His impressive performance made the 20-year-old the youngest player in franchise history to record 25+ points, 5+ rebounds, and 5+ three-pointers in a game.
The 21st overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft had been averaging 8.7 points per game prior to Wednesday’s matchup. However, with this historic outing, Clowney has now scored in double figures in eight of his last 12 games.
His three-point shooting has steadily improved this season, and during the postgame press conference, Clowney credited his time at Alabama for helping build the confidence to continue shooting, even through early struggles from beyond the arc.
