“Indiana Football in Fierce Battle for Notre Dame Offensive Lineman Rocco Spindler!”

Notre Dame transfer offensive tackle Rocco Spindler is reportedly a top contender to join the Indiana Hoosiers this off-season, according to Pete Nakos of On3. Alongside Indiana, Nebraska and Michigan are also strong contenders for Spindler’s commitment, with Pitt and Virginia among other schools considered for his talents.

Spindler entered the transfer portal after Notre Dame’s loss to Ohio State in the National Championship Game. The 6-foot-5, 325-pound lineman started 23 games at right guard and five at right tackle for the Fighting Irish. His experience would provide a much-needed boost to Indiana’s offensive line, which lacked depth in the 2024 season. Over his career, Spindler has allowed just two sacks in over 1,300 snaps, making him a reliable option.

A former four-star recruit from Clarkston, Mich., Spindler is the son of Marc Spindler, a former Pitt Panther and NFL player. Indiana has already added former Ohio State transfer Zen Michalski and former Hoosier Khalil Benson to strengthen their line. However, with key players like starting right tackle Trey Wedig and center Mike Katic graduating, and the uncertainty surrounding Drew Evans’ recovery, Spindler could be a key addition for the Hoosiers.
