“Jalen Hurts Shatters Records as Eagles Storm Into Super Bowl!”

Jalen Hurts set a new NFL postseason record for rushing touchdowns by a quarterback as the Philadelphia Eagles triumphed 55-23 over the Washington Commanders in the NFC Championship Game, securing their spot in Super Bowl LIX.

Hurts ran for three touchdowns, bringing his career playoff total to nine in just eight games, surpassing the previous record of eight set by Steve Young, who accomplished the feat in 22 playoff games with the San Francisco 49ers.

Hurts also became one of only two players to record three rushing touchdowns and one passing touchdown in a single playoff game—doing it for the second time in his career. The first player to achieve this was Otto Graham of the Cleveland Browns in the 1954 NFL Championship Game. Hurts previously accomplished the feat in Super Bowl LVII against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Hurts’ first two touchdowns came in the crucial final minutes of the first half. He scored on a 1-yard sneak to give the Eagles a 20-12 lead, followed by a 4-yard touchdown pass to AJ Brown after Washington fumbled the ensuing kickoff, putting Philadelphia up 27-12 heading into halftime. Hurts added another touchdown in the third quarter with a 9-yard run, extending the Eagles’ lead to 34-15.
