“Breaking News: NFL Insider Reveals Ben Johnson as ‘Top Candidate’ for Raiders’ Head Coaching Job”

Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson has become one of the most sought-after coaching candidates this offseason.

Despite receiving interest from nearly every team with a head coaching vacancy, the Las Vegas Raiders are reportedly gaining significant traction in their pursuit of Johnson, according to Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport has now confirmed the growing buzz around Johnson’s candidacy during an episode of The Insiders.

“There’s a strong belief among those connected to the Raiders’ search—candidates, agents, and NFL insiders—that Ben Johnson is the frontrunner and many expect him to land the job,” Rapoport said. “However, the Raiders’ search isn’t complete, and they haven’t fully met the requirements to hire a coach yet. Johnson also can’t be officially hired until his season concludes, but it certainly looks like that’s the direction things are heading.”

Should Johnson take the reins in Las Vegas, he would succeed Antonio Pierce, who was dismissed after the regular season. However, Johnson and the Lions still have a playoff run to focus on, with a first-round bye and a postseason opener against the Washington Commanders set for January 18 at 8 p.m. ET.
