“Newest Addition to the Tide: Carolina Ascent Signs Alabama Soccer Star Riley Parker in Major Move!”

A former Alabama soccer standout has found a new professional team. The Carolina Ascent of the USL Super League announced on Monday that they’ve signed former Crimson Tide forward Riley Mattingly Parker for the remainder of the 2024-25 season.

Parker had a breakout year in 2022 after recovering from ACL surgery, earning All-American honors and ranking as one of the nation’s top goal-scorers, while also setting Alabama’s record for goals in a single season. That year, the Crimson Tide secured a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament and advanced to the College Cup in Cary, N.C.

Most recently, Parker played for Tampa Bay Sun FC, from which she was transferred to the Ascent. She will reunite with her former Alabama teammate, Ashlynn Serepca, who was also part of the dynamic 2022 attack.
