IOWA CITY, Iowa – Indiana’s impressive five-game winning streak came to an abrupt halt on Saturday night as they were blown out 85-60 by Iowa at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

The Hoosiers struggled with turnovers, committing 16 in the game, which led to 24 points for Iowa. Several key players, including Oumar Ballo and Trey Galloway (each with four turnovers), Myles Rice (three turnovers), and Mackenzie Mgbako (two turnovers), contributed to the turnover issues. Indiana also struggled with their shooting in the second half, finishing with just 32.4% from the field.

Iowa’s offense was firing on all cylinders, especially from beyond the arc. The Hawkeyes hit 11-of-24 three-point attempts, with Payton Sandfort leading the way with 23 points, including four three-pointers. Owen Freeman added 16 points and 12 rebounds, while Josh Dix chipped in 12 points, hitting 4-of-5 from three-point range.

The loss drops Indiana to 13-4 overall and 4-2 in Big Ten play. The Hoosiers will return home to Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall for a matchup with Illinois on Tuesday at 7 p.m. ET. Illinois, who also suffered a loss this past weekend, enters the game with a 12-4 record and a 4-2 conference mark. The game will be available exclusively on Peacock.
