“Antonio Williams Shakes Up the College Football Scene: Clemson Star Decides Between College or the NFL”

Clemson’s top wide receiver, Antonio Williams, announced on Friday that he will return for his senior season in 2025 instead of declaring for the NFL Draft. On social media, Williams shared, “More to be done.” In 2024, Williams set career highs with 75 receptions, 904 yards, 11 touchdowns, and 64.6 yards per game, earning first-team All-ACC honors. He became Clemson’s first All-ACC wide receiver in four years, joining Amari Rodgers and Cornell Powell in 2020.

Williams will reunite with senior quarterback Cade Klubnik and sophomore wideouts Bryant Wesco Jr. and T.J. Moore in 2025. He is the first of three key Clemson players to announce their decisions for next season, with junior offensive lineman Blake Miller and redshirt senior defensive tackle DeMonte Capehart yet to confirm their plans.

Williams, a freshman All-American in 2022, had a standout 2024 season after recovering from injuries that sidelined him for most of 2023. He became one of only four Clemson players since 2000 to record a passing, rushing, and receiving touchdown in the same season. He is also on track to challenge multiple school records, including consecutive games with a catch and career receptions. Williams, now with 153 career catches, needs 92 more to surpass Artavis Scott’s record of 245, and he is just 10 touchdowns shy of the record 27 held by DeAndre Hopkins, Sammy Watkins, and Tee Higgins.
