“Fan-Favorite Bills RB Poised for Major Role in Season Finale – Could This Be His Moment?”

The Buffalo Bills couldn’t secure the top spot in the AFC, but they did earn a mini-bye week for the season finale by clinching the No. 2 seed. Their Week 18 matchup against the New England Patriots will allow key players to rest, and could provide an opportunity for a fan-favorite running back who has spent most of the season on the practice squad.

Frank Gore Jr., the undrafted rookie and son of NFL legend Frank Gore, may get a chance to shine in this game. Gore has spent most of the year on the practice squad but was elevated once earlier in the season when James Cook was unavailable for a game against the Jets. He hasn’t yet played in a regular-season game this year, though he impressed in the preseason with 101 rushing yards and a touchdown.

This could be a big chance for Gore, who joined the Bills after a standout career at Southern Mississippi. His father, who played for the Bills in 2019, has spoken fondly of the Buffalo fan base, which Gore Jr. also grew to love during his visits.

Additionally, the Bills are aiming to break an NFL record for most different players catching a touchdown in a season. With all of the active roster’s wide receivers and running backs already having scored, Gore or another player elevated from the practice squad could be the one to break the record.
