The Buffalo Bills are one win away from securing the No. 2 seed in the AFC as they prepare to face the New York Jets in Week 17. Ahead of the Bills’ previous game against the New England Patriots, insider Ian Rapoport reported that quarterback Josh Allen has been playing with a broken left hand since Week 1. Allen confirmed this in a press conference on Thursday, downplaying the injury. “Yeah. Yeah, it’s the left one, so it doesn’t really matter all that much,” said Allen. While Allen doesn’t appear concerned about the injury to his non-throwing hand, he’s also dealing with soreness in his right arm. Allen addressed this as well, saying, “Just a little sore from this last game. Probably took too many hits and pads on me. I just gotta be smarter.” Despite being listed on the injury report this week for his arm, Allen has participated fully in practice every day, ensuring he’ll play on Sunday.
If the Bills win against the Jets, Allen could rest in Week 18, with the playoffs starting the following week. He may even sit out earlier in the game on Sunday if Buffalo establishes a comfortable lead. Despite his injuries, Allen remains a strong MVP candidate. Through 15 games, he has amassed 4,063 total yards and 38 total touchdowns.
