Just in : Ironman management and Triathletes has just disqualified 21 Athletes due to ..

Tomas Rodriguez Hernandez has been sidelined for two years after testing positive for clomiphene—basically a fertility drug that’s more suited to baby-making than race-winning. The Mexican triathlete, who stunned two-time world champion Patrick Lange at Ironman Texas, is now the proud owner of a disqualified title, zero prize money, and no points.

Apparently, Hernandez’s defense is that the positive test came from “contaminated eggs”—because who hasn’t had a bad egg morning, right? Unfortunately for him, the B-sample confirmed the egg-cuse, and now Lange is back on top as the rightful winner. Hernandez’s suspension runs from June 6, 2024, to June 5, 2026, so he’ll have plenty of time to perfect his omelet skills. Meanwhile, Lange’s probably wondering if he’s the only one eating scrambled eggs on race day.
