NEWS NOW: Alabama Strikes Gold in the Transfer Portal – Three Stars Locked In to Reload the Tide

Just days ago, Alabama fans were bracing for the worst as over a dozen players hit the transfer portal, leaving the roster looking thin. Fast forward a week, and the Tide are turning the tables – reloading with elite talent and plugging key holes for next season.

Yesterday, Alabama made waves by landing three marquee players from the portal, each poised to make an immediate impact under Coach Kalen DeBoer.

First up – OL Kam Dewberry.**
This guy’s a beast. The former Texas A&M lineman earned Freshman All-American honors in 2022 and has been a versatile force over the past two seasons, logging over 600 snaps. At 6’4” and 330 pounds, Dewberry fits the mold of Alabama’s signature physical linemen, drawing comparisons to the departing Tyler Booker. With three years of experience at one of the nation’s top programs, he’s a prime candidate to step in and anchor the offensive line next fall.

Next – WR Isaiah Horton.**
If Alabama’s receiving corps needed a new weapon, they just got one. Horton, a 6’3” playmaker from Miami, hauled in 56 catches for 616 yards and 5 touchdowns last season. His size and sideline skills bring a fresh dynamic to Alabama’s offense – something DeBoer clearly values. Horton’s presence adds depth and diversity to a group already loaded with talent like Ryan Williams and Germie Bernard. Expect Horton to be a major part of the passing attack next year.

And then – LB Nikhai Hill-Green.**
Talk about a grinder. Hill-Green’s journey is a story of persistence – from Michigan to Charlotte to Colorado, where he thrived under Deion Sanders and racked up 12 tackles for loss and 2 picks last season. A second-team All-Big 12 selection, Hill-Green brings toughness, leadership, and a wealth of experience to a linebacker unit that’s losing some serious talent to the NFL. Whether he starts or rotates in, his presence will be crucial for Alabama’s defense in 2025.

But that’s not all. Earlier in the week, Alabama snagged defensive lineman Kelby Collins from Florida and cornerback Cam Calhoun from Utah, adding even more firepower to the roster.

The Tide isn’t done yet – expect Alabama to keep an eye out for another defensive back or any game-changing talent still out there. But for now, the message is clear: Alabama isn’t rebuilding – they’re reloading.
