South Bend Police Investigate Homicide at Miami Hills Apartments
The South Bend Police Department has elevated a death investigation from October to a homicide. On October 22, police responded to a welfare check at Miami Hills Apartments and found 42-year-old Joyce Montague unresponsive. She was later pronounced dead.
The South Bend Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit responded to the scene and began investigating. Through their investigation and preliminary autopsy results, the case has been reclassified as a homicide.
The investigation is ongoing, and police are seeking information from the public. Anyone with information about the case is encouraged to submit an anonymous tip to Michiana Crime Stoppers by calling 574-288-STOP.
The police department is not releasing any further information at this time, as the investigation is still active.
