Minnesota struggled to contain Indiana’s imposing frontcourt trio of Oumar Ballo, Malik Reneau, and Mackenzie Mgbako, who combined for 47 points on 17-of-27 shooting in the Hoosiers’ 82-67 victory.
Despite Dawson Garcia’s strong performance with 22 points for Minnesota, the Golden Gophers had no answers for Indiana’s dominance in the paint. Ballo, Reneau, and Mgbako powered Indiana to a 42-point advantage inside, helping the Hoosiers control the game with a 35-22 rebound margin. The victory marked a strong start for Indiana in Big Ten play.
