The Detroit Lions have been dealing with a plethora of injuries this season, and head coach Dan Campbell provided updates on several key players. Campbell expressed optimism about the team’s overall health, stating that everyone is healing up and the team is better off than they were last week.
One of the most significant injury updates was on defensive lineman Alim McNeill, who is currently in concussion protocol after leaving last week’s game against the Green Bay Packers. Campbell confirmed that McNeill will need to clear protocol before returning to the field.
Campbell also provided updates on several players who are currently on injured reserve (IR). He mentioned that linebacker Alex Anzalone is on pace to return towards the end of the season, possibly in time for the playoffs. Additionally, Campbell stated that defensive back Kalif Raymond is also expected to return around the same time as Anzalone.
Regarding star defensive end Aidan Hutchinson, Campbell remained cautiously optimistic about his return. While he wouldn’t provide a specific timeline, Campbell praised Hutchinson’s work ethic and determination, stating that if anyone could return from injury quickly, it’s Hutchinson.
Overall, the Lions are hoping to get several key players back on the field soon, which could provide a significant boost to their playoff hopes. With several tough games remaining on their schedule, the Lions will need all the help they can get to secure a postseason berth.
