“Burrow Aims for Comeback, Ja’Marr Targets Triple Crown, and Cam Taylor-Britt Feels Confident Returning”

With five games remaining in what he considers his best season ever, Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow has set his sights on two key goals: one for himself and one for his top target, Ja’Marr Chase.

Chase is aiming for the wide receiver Triple Crown, and Burrow pointed out after Thursday’s practice that Chase is currently tied for second in the NFL with 79 receptions, alongside Cowboys’ CeeDee Lamb, the Bengals’ opponent Monday night. Both trail Raiders rookie tight end Brock Bowers by five receptions. “I hope we can get him that,” Burrow said, referring to Chase, who still leads the league with 1,142 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Burrow is hoping to secure another prestigious accolade. “I’m not sure there has ever been a two-time Comeback Player of the Year,” he said, acknowledging the rarity of the award. Burrow won the honor in 2021 after leading the Bengals to the Super Bowl the year following a torn ACL. If he wins again, he would be the first player to do so with the same team, joining Chad Pennington as the only player to win it twice overall.

Burrow, who has been playing at an elite level this season with 30 touchdown passes and 3,337 yards, is widely considered the favorite for the award, with stiff competition from Kirk Cousins and Kyler Murray.

Burrow also discussed his improvement this season, particularly with his wrist, which has allowed him to expand his game. His recent performance, including a remarkable jump pass for a touchdown, demonstrates how far he has come since early in the year when his wrist was still an issue.

As the Bengals head into the final stretch of the season, Burrow emphasized the importance of the next five games. “The next five weeks will say a lot,” he said, noting that success is based on current performance, not past achievements.

In other Bengals news, cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt has regained his confidence after a strong performance against the Steelers, including a 51-yard pick-six. He acknowledged his previous struggles but said the recent game helped him get back on track. “Definitely think it helps,” he said, referring to the boost in his confidence.
