Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow may need a heroic performance to turn around his team’s struggling season, and perhaps that’s why he made a bold purchase.
Burrow recently spent $2.99 million on one of just 10 officially licensed and fully functional Batmobiles sold by Wayne Enterprises Experiences. He shared the news during a conversation with wide receivers Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins on the premiere episode of HBO’s “Hard Knocks: In Season with the AFC North” on Tuesday.
“Have I told you I bought a Batmobile?” Burrow casually asked Chase and Higgins during a practice last week. “I don’t get it for like a year, but I bought one.”
However, Burrow acknowledged that his purchase might come with additional costs, including the need for the perfect outfit.
“I think I gotta go all-in and get the expensive batsuit,” he joked to Chase.
The 28-year-old Burrow, who leads the NFL with 30 touchdowns and 3,337 passing yards, is trying to lift his team out of a three-game losing streak. The Bengals (4-8) are on the verge of missing the playoffs for the second consecutive year.
