“Buffalo Bills Star Inspires Kids with New Children’s Book: ‘Dream Beyond Your Reality'”

Buffalo Bills cornerback Ja’Marcus Ingram is used to reading plays on the field, but off the field, he’s now authored a children’s book titled The Lil’ Player That Could.

Ingram shares that the inspiration for the book stems from his own childhood experiences. The book, which focuses on the challenges he faced on his journey to the NFL, will be released on December 10 and is available for pre-order on Ingram’s website and Amazon.

The story highlights key moments in Ingram’s life, such as when he broke his ankle at age nine, an injury that left him feeling hesitant and unsure on the field. Growing up in Texas as one of ten children, Ingram describes himself as small and “Bambi-like,” struggling with confidence due to his size.

Through the support of family, friends, and coaches, his confidence grew, along with his stature. Although Ingram didn’t receive a college scholarship, he walked on at Utah State, played two seasons at Texas Tech, and finished his college career at the University at Buffalo. In 2022, he attended the Bills’ minicamp and made the team as an undrafted rookie.

In his book, Ingram writes, “Undrafted still, my hope didn’t sway. As a rookie tryout in Buffalo I made the team that day!”

Now one of six players on the Bills with multiple interceptions this season, Ingram’s message is clear: “Dream beyond your reality.” He hopes his story provides kids with the inspiration to pursue their dreams and realize their potential.
