Shocking injury update: “Andy Reid Breaks Silence on Left Tackle Situation After Shocking Benching of Starter”

The Kansas City Chiefs remained in first place in the AFC after a narrow 19-17 win over the Las Vegas Raiders on Friday.

Despite the victory, the team struggled offensively, particularly at left tackle. In the fourth quarter, the Chiefs opted to bench Wanya Morris, who had started since Week 2, following a poor performance. Many fans have called for the team to start Pro Bowler D.J. Humphries, who was signed just a week earlier. During his Monday press conference, head coach Andy Reid discussed the potential for Humphries to start against the Los Angeles Chargers next week. “We’ll work him in and see how he feels,” Reid explained. “The main thing is making sure he’s in good shape since he hasn’t played in a while. He did well last week, and we’ll do more with him this week.” Humphries joined the Chiefs after recovering from a torn ACL he sustained in 2023. Reid also considered the possibility of moving guard Joe Thuney to left tackle, a position he filled after Morris was benched on Friday. “That’s another option we have,” Reid said. “I prefer Joe at guard because he’s very effective there, but (Mike) Caliendo is also capable, so it’s a good problem to have. We have flexibility depending on what’s needed.”
