At one point during the game, Florida A&M was shooting nearly 50% from the field, with almost a third of their first-half points coming from beyond the arc. Clemson, which trailed for much of the first half, began to find its rhythm but still held just a narrow 38-32 lead at the break.
The second half saw the Tigers catch fire, scoring 48 points while the Rattlers cooled off, leading to a dominant 86-58 Clemson victory. The pivotal moment came when Clemson held Florida A&M to just 7 points up until the under-8-minute timeout, fueling a 27–7 run that effectively sealed the game. This allowed Clemson to give key minutes to its reserves.
A total of 11 Tigers scored in the win, with 4 reaching double digits. Chase Hunter led the way with 16 points, while Chauncey Wiggins impressed with 15 points, including a scorching 75% from three-point range. Jaeden Zackery contributed a season-high 13 points, and Victor Lahkin added 12.
Although Clemson wasn’t red-hot from beyond the arc (hitting 36% of its three-pointers), they shot 50% overall and continued to improve at the free-throw line, finishing 17-20. Defensively, Clemson played a clean game, limiting the Rattlers to just 6 free-throw attempts, making only 1.
This victory comes after a major tournament win in Daytona Beach, where Clemson defeated San Francisco and Penn State. It serves as a tune-up before a huge non-conference home game against Kentucky at Littlejohn on Tuesday night. The Tigers’ ability to dominate an inferior opponent sets them up well for the challenge ahead.
