NFL champion’s Week 12 status in doubt amid injury woes.

Philadelphia Eagles star wide receiver 26 years old champion   status for Sunday’s highly anticipated game against the Los Angeles Rams remains uncertain. Smith, a crucial component of Philadelphia’s offense, is dealing with a hamstring injury that has sidelined him from practice all week. According to ESPN’s Tim McManus, the 26-year-old receiver was not seen during Friday’s practice, casting further doubt on his ability to suit up for the Sunday Night Football showdown.

Smith’s absence would be a significant blow for the 8-2 Eagles, who have relied on his dynamic playmaking abilities throughout the season. In nine games, Smith has totaled 41 receptions for 516 yards and four touchdowns, solidifying his reputation as one of the NFL’s elite wide receivers. His skill set as a route runner and deep threat makes him a critical asset for quarterback Jalen Hurts and the Eagles’ offense.

While Philadelphia would certainly prefer to have Smith on the field, his inability to practice all week suggests his chances of playing on Sunday are slim. Hamstring injuries can be tricky, and the Eagles are likely to prioritize Smith’s long-term health over risking further aggravation.

If Smith is unavailable, the Eagles will face the Rams without one of their most reliable offensive weapons. However, the team remains confident heading into the matchup, knowing they have other playmakers to step up against a Rams squad that has struggled with inconsistency throughout the 2024 season.

Head coach Nick Sirianni has been tight-lipped about Smith’s status. During his Friday press conference, Sirianni offered no concrete update, saying, “We’ll see by the end of today,” per Jeff McLane of *The Philadelphia Inquirer.*

The Eagles will hope for a late turnaround, but as of now, it appears they may need to prepare for Sunday without their star wideout.
