The Golden State Warriors are off to a strong start this season, holding the best record in the Western Conference. A key factor in their improved performance has been reducing turnovers, an area they’ve struggled with during the Stephen Curry era. Draymond Green has been particularly focused on cutting down his turnovers and revealed that head coach Steve Kerr held a private film session with him to help improve in this area.
“Steve has been on me, and Steph is really focused on turnovers. We had a whole film session today, and it was really beneficial for me,” Green shared.
“I’ve been trying to cut back on risky full-court passes. Steph and I have been discussing this a lot,” Green continued. “Steve showed me clips from the halfcourt, where I was getting sped up. I felt it during the game—I almost turned it over once—but after seeing the clips, I realized I’d made the same mistake several times before.”
By limiting turnovers, the Warriors have seen their offense run more smoothly, creating more scoring opportunities. With Green and Curry handling the ball the most, reducing mistakes has been crucial to improving the team’s overall play.
