A 6-foot-5, 190-pound guard from Tampa, Florida, Matthew Able is ranked as the No. 34 player in the 2025 class according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. He is considered a top-40 recruit by Rivals, On3, and 247Sports, while ESPN ranks him No. 56 overall and No. 13 among shooting guards in the nation.
In 2024, Able played for Austin Rivers SE Elite on the 3SSB Circuit, averaging 13.6 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.4 steals across 19 games. He shot 44.8% from three-point range and 82.5% from the free-throw line. In his final game on the 3SSB Circuit, he scored 35 points and grabbed seven rebounds, hitting 70% of his three-pointers (7 of 10).
Able contributed to a 23-7 record for Berkeley Prep during the 2023-24 season but will spend his senior year at Sagemont Prep in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
“Matthew Able is an athletic combo guard who excels at shooting and plays hard every time he’s on the court. He was unranked heading into the summer but improved significantly throughout the year, finishing among the nation’s top 50 players. He’ll be a fantastic addition to our program next season,” said a representative of the program.
Ben Ahmed, a 6-foot-9, 300-pound center from Putnam, Connecticut, is ranked No. 94 in the nation by 247Sports Composite and is the second-best player in Connecticut. During the 2024 3SSB Circuit, Ahmed averaged 9.0 points and 7.3 rebounds per game, shooting 47.1% from the field.
Ahmed helped Putnam Science Academy win the National Prep Championship in 2022-23 and reach the runner-up position in 2023-24. Originally from Kaduna State, Nigeria, he is known for his elite left-handed scoring ability around the basket and his high-energy play.
“Ben Ahmed is a dominant low-post player with impressive scoring skills and the ability to pass in the high-post. He’s a high-energy player who will be a valuable asset to the Miami program in the years to come,” the program representative noted.
