GOOD NEWS: Here’s what the Texas team had to say after their hard-fought win at Arkansas.

Texas football’s defense powers a hard-fought rivalry win in Week 12 over Arkansas on the road.

The Longhorns have historically dominated this matchup, entering with a 56-23 all-time record. However, the last time they visited Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium in 2021, they were handed a 40-21 loss. Of the 11 Longhorns who played in that game, nine starters are on the 2024 roster. Saturday’s 20-10 victory over Arkansas wasn’t perfect, but Texas did what was necessary to defeat an SEC rival on the road.

Texas’ defense was outstanding, limiting the Razorbacks to just 231 total yards and 3.9 yards per play, which was more than 18 points below their average entering the game.

Jahdae Barron was a standout, finishing with seven tackles, two tackles for loss, a sack, and an interception. Wearing No. 7, Barron showed why he’s a top candidate for the Jim Thorpe Award.

Here’s what Texas players had to say after the 20-10 win over Arkansas:

**Quinn Ewers**
On the difficulty of road games: “In this conference, it’s tough to win on the road, especially in an environment like this with the history between these programs.”
On the struggles with passing downfield: “You’re going to have games like this, but we did a good job staying poised and composed.”
On Arkansas’ three-high safety look: “It’s tough to play against, but we’ve seen it a lot. We understand it more than we did last year, though it’s always frustrating when you want to push the ball downfield.”
On his touchdown pass to Matthew Golden: “Every Friday, I tell Coach Sark which plays I like in certain situations. I was fired up when he called it. Every time he calls it, I’m thinking touchdown.”
On his fourth-down run: “I read the end, he crashed, and I was like ‘it’s time to go.’”

**Jahdae Barron**
On Ewers’ game-sealing fourth-down run: “He has a lot of haters, but I love that dude to the fullest. That’s a warrior move.”
On Coach PK: “Coach PK is a genius. Every time I made a play, I went over and thanked him for calling it. He keeps putting me in the right positions to succeed.”
On the pregame tunnel reminder: “I kept saying ‘2021’ to Barryn Sorrell to remind him of our last trip to Fayetteville.”

**Alfred Collins**
On his late forced fumble: “I just wanted to get the ball back to the offense. Do what I gotta do.”

**Tre Wisner**
“Every game this season feels like the SEC Championship. We said that from the start.”
