The Buffalo Bills are gearing up for their biggest game of the 2024 season as they host the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. Riding a five-game winning streak, the Bills have hit their stride on both offense and defense. Despite this momentum, there’s ongoing speculation about potential roster improvements. One name frequently mentioned is safety Micah Hyde, who spent seven years with the Bills before the team opted not to re-sign him during the offseason.
Hyde remains a free agent, and during a recent press conference, quarterback Josh Allen was asked about the possibility of bringing the All-Pro safety back. “I’ve talked to him a little, checked in with him,” Allen said. “I love that guy. I don’t really have anything specific to say. Our defense has been playing fantastic football. But if the opportunity came up to bring him back, I think everyone in the locker room would welcome him with open arms.”
During his seven seasons with the Bills, Hyde earned two second-team All-Pro honors and was selected to one Pro Bowl. This season, the Bills have relied on Taylor Rapp and Damar Hamlin at safety, but adding more depth to the secondary could strengthen their roster.
