The Bills’ star QB opened up about his rivalry with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen didn’t hold back in discussing his fierce rivalry with the Kansas City Chiefs. With Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs heading to Buffalo this Sunday for a showdown between AFC powerhouses, the two star QBs—who became starters in 2018—are set to face off for the eighth time.
Although Mahomes is 1-3 in regular-season matchups against Buffalo, he’s won all three playoff encounters between the teams. When Bills reporter Joe Buscaglia asked Allen about Buffalo’s regular-season success against the Chiefs, Allen was quick to shift focus to the postseason defeats.“Well, we haven’t beaten them in the playoffs, and that’s really all that matters.”
The Buffalo Bills can put themselves right back in contention for the AFC’s top seed.
Josh Allen has surged into MVP talks over the past few weeks. This season, the two-time Pro Bowler has tossed 17 touchdowns and just four interceptions, ranking fifth in QBR. With an 8-2 record, the Bills have essentially clinched the AFC East. Even though a home playoff game seems certain, Buffalo still has plenty to play for as the season progresses.
The current No. 2 seed in the AFC is just a game and a half behind securing home-field advantage throughout the postseason. If Josh Allen’s Bills beat Kansas City, they would need the Chiefs to lose once more to move into first place—a scenario that seems likely as Kansas City has been showing signs of vulnerability.
However, the Bills face a challenging schedule ahead. They’ll host last year’s Super Bowl teams in their next two games before hitting the road to face the Los Angeles Rams and the streaking Detroit Lions.Although Josh Allen’s season ended at Highmark Stadium last year against Patrick Mahomes, securing home-field advantage remains vital for the Bills. Buffalo is undefeated at Orchard Park this season and boasts one of the most fervent fanbases in the NFL.
