Falcons OT Kaleb McGary Avoids Major Injury, Will Not Be Placed on IR.

Positive News for the Atlanta Falcons Regarding Kaleb McGary**

In a recent update, the Atlanta Falcons have received encouraging news concerning right tackle Kaleb McGary, who sustained a knee injury during Week 3. Fortunately, the injury does not appear to be serious.

Head coach Raheem Morris addressed the media on Wednesday, confirming that McGary, who left the game against the Kansas City Chiefs in the second quarter of their 22-17 defeat, will not be placed on injured reserve.

Morris mentioned uncertainty regarding McGary’s participation in Wednesday’s practice, stating, “We’ll assess where we stand today during our walkthrough and practice.”

Since being drafted in the first round of 2019, McGary has been a crucial component of Atlanta’s offensive line, starting 78 out of 79 games. In the first two games of this season, he allowed only one sack, one quarterback hit, and six hurries, according to Pro Football Focus.

If McGary is unable to play this Sunday against the New Orleans Saints, Storm Norton will step in. Norton logged 46 snaps during the game against Kansas City after McGary’s injury.

Morris noted that, like all players, Norton has areas to improve if he is called upon to start against the Saints. “There are always minor adjustments to make,” he said, particularly regarding the specifics of the game plan.

Additionally, the Falcons are already missing starting center Drew Dalman, who was placed on injured reserve with a high ankle sprain. Ryan Neuzil is set to start against the Saints, raising the question of whether he will be the only backup available in the lineup.

Atlanta (1-2) will face New Orleans (2-1) at 1 p.m. on Sunday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
