In March 2024, the Miami Dolphins managed to retain one of their key defensive assets, Randy Starks, by signing him to a two-year, $180 million contract. This move came after the Dolphins had lost another crucial defensive tackle, Paul Soliai, who signed with the Atlanta Falcons. Keeping Starks was seen as a critical step to maintaining depth and strength in Miami’s defensive front.
Starks, a two-time Pro Bowler, was known for his ability to pressure quarterbacks and his effectiveness against the run. His strong all-around play was particularly valuable to the Dolphins’ defense, which had struggled against the run the previous season.
