It’s a good idea to finalize your predictions now that the NFL season is about to begin on Thursday.
We so questioned eighteen Ravens who they believe would be a breakout player in 2024. These are their selections:
Travis Jones, DT (five votes)
Charlie Kolar, TE: “Well, he’s really big. He’s also really strong. It was incredible to witness him bench press 1,000 pounds yesterday.
NT Michael Pierce: “This year is going to be amazing for Travis Jones. Though his cerebral tools are just now beginning to come into play, he always has the physical tools. He had a terrific camp and played a lot the previous year. This year, Trav is going to be incredibly kind and generous.”
DE Brent Urban: “Even from last year, there has been a significant improvement in his game-planning. He truly possesses incredible strength and impressive athleticism considering his small. Just eager to watch what he accomplishes this year.”
S Kyle Hamilton: “I believe that not many players in the league at his position have the same impact on the game as he does. He has simply been an issue for the offense the entire camp. He can hardly be stopped. He really reminds me of Chris Jones from Kansas City.”
DE/DT Broderick Washington: “The amount of effort he has invested. He is now more adept at using his strength to his advantage in order to assist him make plays. His training camp work, his summertime work ethic, and all he’s put in. And to think, he’s probably one of the league’s strongest players. I believe he will kill people this year because he knows how to take advantage of that.”
Trenton Simpson (3), ILB, RB Justice Hill: “He was working his way up last year, taking a year off, and now he’s getting the chance to go.” It will be exciting to watch him out there flying around since he has been having a tremendous preseason. He makes plays and flies around doing just that.”
Tavius Robinson, an OLB, said, “He’s been working, been grinding.”
CB Brandon Stephens: “[This year,] I just anticipate great things from him.” This is his first chance to get started. We anticipate great things, and I think he’s ready to make a big impression.”
David Ojabo, OLB (3)
OLB Odafe Oweh: “He has the stage all set. He’s worked hard this offseason after recovering from the injury, and he looks fantastic. Just to warm up, he’s had a fantastic preseason, so I think it’s inevitable.”
TE Isaiah Likely: “Showcasing bits and pieces every time he’s out there, coming off of what he’s been through the last two years.” Having him exhibit his self-assurance and simply go out and prove to the world who he is this year.”
S. Ar’Darius Washington: “I think the effort he’s made is worthwhile. Despite his injuries from the previous season, he performed admirably when he did play. He therefore had a great preseason and camp, and I believe he will undoubtedly have a breakout year.”
